How I Made My First $150 Dollars From Content Creation

I knew I would make a post like this but not this soon, omg!! I’m screaming…

I told y’all that I started creating content on tiktok right? So far so good, it has been fun and relaxing. I love the community that I’ve made and how engaging they can be too.

Creating content, okay let’s me just say making videos and talking about stuffs or just making a cute video of myself has been part of me since 2019😂

Short story time might be long though;

A fateful night in 2019, my sister (phaye) showed me some of my age mates on Instagram’s live and I was like
“What is this?!” Then she explained everything saying that the app is called Instagram, those people call themselves content creators and they are group of friends too. So they come live often to just chat. I was like “Maddd!”
Those people there were having so much fun, gisting and engaging with people and since then I said I would be like them.

Since I’m not this social girl irl why can’t I be online, after all people can’t come to my house to beat me. So I created my own instagram’s account, started following those people. (Susan pawjok, Stephanie Moka) and some other guys. Like they gave me joy.
I just wanted to be like them.

Back to my story, I have been trying so hard since 2019 and I knew I would do great because it was something I loved not like a hard task.

I had factors that hindered me from doing great like not having a good phone and skin. I made my own videos but I will only send it to my friends not to the public. But it was later on in 2020 (covid) I was like fuck it! I made lotsss of videos and posted them on my TikTok. I already new what tiktok was thanks to phaye my sister again.

Fast forward to 2021, I had a good phone (not the best camera) which my dad gave me. I could make amazing videos with that. My skin was still bad here o… I used that phone to search for stuffs to help my acne but omo . None of them worked!

In 2022, that phone spoilt. One of my sisters (Nancy) gave me her iPhone 7. I was like this is a dream come true. I was so happy. I deleted my old TikTok account with bad camera and created two new accounts. One was for personal use and the other was for music lyrics because had that time I began to like songs and wanted to learn their lyrics so I made an account sharing music lyrics. I had 5k followers until they banned the account. It was sad but I had to move on😭

I stopped making contents. I only made cute videos on my phone sometimes post them on WhatsApp…

My iPhone 7 got spoilt and I was like am I cursed or what?! It pained me fr. I told everyone in my family about it because I didn’t have money to buy myself a phone.

Thanks to my sister (Gift) she gave me her iPhone 11. Brooo iPhone 11!! I’m crying right now. The camera was clear, I already had a clear skin at this time (I went to do facials and Nancy but products to help my skin heal fast). I was so happy… I posted my pictures and videos on every social media I was on without any insecurity because I was already healed. It was the best thing that had happened to me not gonna lie.

I deleted all the videos I had created in my TikTok account, then I started again and I got lots of real engagement but it wasn’t enough.

So I thought of the kind of content to do that will make me build my own community and since I was already into tech I then decided to create an account for tech contents.

I just had to tell you guys all these from scratch so you know I’ve come a long way.

Tech content was it. The first video I posted when I created this account ehen… hmmm… it got 200 views at first that same hour. I have never had that in my life for a personal content. Omg! People like me here… I was so so surprised and happy. The next day the video grew and now I have 518,3k views on it. With lots of engagements. Y’all must have known by now how I love engagements, like when people have something to say either good or bad I just like it that I’m being seen like a human.

Anyways, I posted a lot and built my community… still building. My account has grown to 10k and tech brands started reaching out to me to promote their products and I was going to be rewarded at the end. I made a content for the first brand and they gave me free subscription for a year on their website. I was like dreams coming through. Thank youuu Jesus. More and more brands came in but it was never money that was the reward.

Not until one day a guy reached out to me and asked if I can promote their website (it was to help people learn programming skills) and I was like why not. The pay was $55 I was like wow!!! I never expected it… the next day was even better a lady reached out to me still on tiktok and asked the same stuff if I can promote their website and I was like “why not ma ?!” then she said the pay will be $100 I was like
Me?? $100k for just doing what I love and she was like Yeaa😂 I took the offer and I got more and more collaborations like this. My sisters were so happy for me😌

From all what I’ve said I will say one big lesson I learnt is in order for me to succeed big time on something, I have to love it to the extent that even when I give up I rise back.

So if you have whatever you want to succeed in, don’t give up, the sky is your limit💪 and make sure not to stick on one thing. Exploreeee. I started from instagram and ended up on tiktok.
